Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her real name Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. On July 21st, 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to work in conjunction with Rihanna. Her announcement to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album entitled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on September 5, 2018 with a music video. The second single she released was Grampa on November 9. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole in her Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video was released 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within a week, it had over 3 million views. In December 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
